Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Compliance Officer to ensure that our operations and activities meet regulatory and legal standards. The candidate will be responsible for overseeing internal compliance, managing filings and reporting requirements with the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and other authorities, and supporting corporate governance practices within the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with RBI guidelines applicable to NBFCs, including timely filing of all statutory returns and reports.
- Monitor and update internal policies and procedures to align with current regulatory requirements.
- Manage regulatory audits, inspections, and responses to queries from RBI or other regulators.
- Oversee board and committee meeting documentation, including preparation of agendas, minutes, and resolutions.
- Maintain statutory registers, licenses, and documentation in compliance with the Companies Act and NBFC regulations.
- Collaborate with legal counsel on contractual, operational, and governance issues.
- Conduct internal compliance reviews and risk assessments to identify and mitigate compliance risks.
- Train staff and management on compliance obligations and company policies.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Company Secretary (CS), LLB, or equivalent qualification in law, governance, or compliance.
- 3–6 years of experience in regulatory compliance, preferably in an NBFC, financial institution, or law firm.
- Thorough understanding of RBI/NBFC regulations, Companies Act, SEBI guidelines, and allied laws.
- Experience in managing regulatory audits, filings, and corporate secretarial functions.
